Heirloom Kurtovka Peppers from Southern Serbia
Jelena’s Ajvar Salad is made from 95% sun-ripened red peppers of the heirloom Kurtovka variety. The peppers grow in the fertile Morava Valley in Southern Serbia and are processed traditionally by hand at Jelena’s parents' family farm.
Unlike classic Ajvar spread, the pieces of pepper remain intact. Garlic, parsley, and apple cider vinegar give the salad its savory, fruity flavor.
About 2 kg of fresh Kurtovka peppers are used for one jar.
Ideal on its own, as a salad or dip, as well as a side dish for cheese, grilled meat, potatoes, rice, or pasta.
Ingredients: 95% red Kurtovka peppers, garlic, parsley, apple cider vinegar, rock salt, sunflower oil.
Traditionally handmade in Southern Serbia.
