This Serbian specialty consists of 97% peppers of the heirloom Kurtovka variety. Jelena's parents produce this pepper purée in their family business in southern Serbia. From sowing and gentle processing to filling the jars – every step is carried out with loving care by hand.
The fertile loess soil in the southern Morava valley, mindfulness and sustainability in the treatment of the farmland and plants, and decades of family tradition are the prerequisites for the thriving of these sun-drenched peppers.
Plant info:
One plant produces approx. 700 – 800 g of fruit, which is harvested at different times depending on the degree of ripeness. About a third of each harvest is kept as seeds for the following year.
Jelena's ajvar contains 97% red peppers.
Serving suggestion:
pure as a dip for cheese, with leaf salads, with avocado, as a side dish for grilled meat, with pasta, potatoes or rice, as a spread on pizza bases, as a bread spread
Taste the unadulterated nature and the loving craftsmanship.
Ingredients: 97% red peppers from southern Serbia, rock salt, sunflower oil, wild oregano and lots of love
